Bunk Slide Alternatives?

I had the ironwood pacific brand on my old trailer, they were great, but occasionally cracked.

In my opinion, all the brands are all too much money for what they are. Around $200 for my application. (Four 12' 2x4s)

Unfortunately since I live in AK I haven't found anyone who will sell me cheap custom plastic without charging $100 for shipping. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting an old plastic truck bed liner from the dump, cutting it up, and screwing it down. Anybody tried this as an alternative?

I have the Surfix slicks, but I heard about a couple of guys who split 4" plastic gutter downspouts and stapled 'em on their bunks who said that worked for them. I'm guessing that would only work with a lighter boat, but might be worth a try since it wouldn't cost much.

I went to walmart and bought several large plastic cutting boards. I cut them to bunk width and counter sunk screws into plastic. I mounted them to bunks at equal intervels. works great and not an arm and a leg. Be careful when launching boats. boat will slid off trailer on incline. Don't unhook boat until ready for it to hit water.

Just use a quality Marine Bunk carpet and spray it down good with PAM cooking spray. It'll last about a season before you have to do it again. Works great and cost about 4.00 for the big can. I've had slicks and carpet sprayed with PAM and I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

PAM is totaly safe for human and wildlife consumption so no sweat with the environmentalist.
