When my headlights are on I have running lights, and directionals, everything runs bright like the brakes are on but no brake lights when you actually hit the brakes. When headlights are off and I use the turn signals I have FAINT hazard lights on the trailer, nothing else. The trailer tilts. Any ideas?

Typical of a bad ground or a failing converter from separate brake/turn bulbs on the car vs the shared bulbs on the trailer.

Might be as simple as the plug not making proper connection... might be a broken wire anywhere from converter to the lights on the trailer... might be the converter.

Can you post the vehicle, and if it has a tow package or has otherwise been pre-wired for a trailer? Also, when did this start happening, is it just on this trailer, worked before on a previous trailer, etc.

Ok, its a 2008 Ford F-150. Its has a hitch and plug recepticles wired from the factory, so I'm assuming that's a tow package. I bought it used, never towed anything with it until I bought this boat and trailer. I bought a new wire harness for the trailer so all the wiring is brand new out of the package. The trailer can tip and I haven't touched THAT ground wire yet.

A bad ground can drive you nuts ,that's more than likely your problem. Run individual ground wires to each light that should correct the problem . JMHO
