Sorry I know everyone is probably sick of my questions by now but. I have an 83 Suzuki outboard 85hp motors that when I run in a trash can full of water it appears to run great. But when I stop running it, it looks like there’s a bunch of burnt fuel on the top of the the water it’s been running in. Any suggestions as to what this could be?

Unburnt oil and gas, totally normal.

I mean it’s dark so I’m assuming it’s burnt. The water also appears to be coming from the exhaust and not the telltale, but there was definitely some dirt and debris in the hole. So I’m hoping that was it. This engine appears to run well just trying to fine tune it I guess

looks to me that hole is above the fuel bowl level, so fuel should not be that high.
might check the float and needle and seat to see why it is over filling

Is that the bottom carb? Hard to tell from picture. What happens if you plug it while running? If it runs good time to MacGyver something.
Will try it tomorrow and let you guys know. It looks threaded on the inside.

Ok so I covered it, it still has a leak at the bottom of the carb. Any idea what it is? Stuck float or needle? Any good articles or step by steps on how to clean this?
