Chaney is not running for re-election due to health reasons and Rudy is stepping in to run as VP. So, it is going to be George and Rudy the two heros of 911... That is going to be tough to beat and Rudy will be in position to run for President in 08 against Hillary... brilliant move IMHO!

For real Ralph? I heard some speculation about this yesterday on Howie Carr, but I thought it was just wishful thinking.

That's what they were saying last night on the cable news stations...D!ck Out, Rudy in... DC leaving is going to take the wind out of the Dems sails as he is the one they really always criticize (neo-con, Hallburton, blah, blah, blah)

Don't be jumping up and down with joy, as I think that this is just spin, and there is no mention of this from Rudy or the Bush team.

I truely believe that this is no more than media spin.

If true, it is a master stroke. It would accomplish 3 things. Bush would undoubtably win with Chaney but with Rudy;

#1- It would blow Hillary right out of the running in 2008. Bush is setting up his successor and that is why Rudy would go for the program.

#2- It would remove any objections that the Dems would raise regarding Chaney's tenuous health

#3- It would remove any ability for the Dems to claim that Chaney is the puppeteer just pulling Bush's strings.

Whether or not it comes to pass, it is an incredible tactical idea.

I would give anything to see Hillary's reaction. I don't think that we have ever witnessed such blatant scheming as the Clintons have given us. To be overtly beaten at their own game would be a wonderous victory.

That would be an interesting move. Did anyone catch Hilary's expressions during the State of the Union address? :D I just love watching her try to hide her grimaces & smirks.

I'm sorry Kenny, but I just got too excited. :D

Brilliant move, if it comes to pass.

We have seen what happens when your running mate becomes a target, (aka, Dan Quayle), this would definetly eleminate that problem. (Not that I think Chaney is a problem, he strikes me as a very intelligent man, his health was my only concern).

Have to agree with Mellow, both Bush and Rudy showed their true colors during the 9/11 tragedy, and frankly.........I liked what I saw!!!

Re: Bush & Rudy bye bye Chaney

I was listening to Shawn Hannity today and a caller brought this up. Hannity said that the Bush / Chaney '04 ticket was a done deal. I wonder when we'll find out for sure. Rudy would make the Bush ticket an unstoppable Juggernaut, and if his health held out, it would put Rudy in line to run in '08. As it is, the Republican party has nothing for '08, and it will be here before you know it, so they need to start grooming somebody for ticket now or else we will end up the same nauseating displays by Republican candidates that this years Democratic hopefuls have sickened us with.

Thanks, Snapperbait. Beat me to the keys. :)

I am not aware that V.P. Cheney has made any announcement that would support the above gossip.
