I have a leak on my port side of my Volvo 350. Not sure what it was that busted since it has more than rotted away, maybe a spot for a temp sending unit?

Looks like the cap was aluminum, and looks like it was dripping and rotted the spark plug that was under it.

I guess I will try and use an easy out to get the rest of the plug out, unless anyone has a better idea?

If your talking about a freeze plug, best way to get them out is to beat it in with a socket of same size, then grab with pliers to pull out.

If you mean on the head, your correct. remments of the plug can be drilled out and retapped for another plug.

Yeah thats the head. I never saw it leak, but it obviously did since it rotted the spark plug. Went up on throttle and the spark plug broke, loud noise

Ayuh,... Chevy heads have a pipe plug around there, I believe 3/8", that's used in automotive applications...
It was probably steel,....
