I just put a new cedar fence up in the back yard, so we'll be enjoying some added privacy and a big bbq dinner with our neighbors (unless he power-washes something, I'd have to throw eggs at his house then) ;) .

A 4th of July BBQ with the family, then Saturday to New York City to see The Phamton of the Opera show, momma says the boat stays home, :( too many drunks on the water, with the DWI lowered to .08 this should be an interesting holiday weekend. Wishing eveyone a happy and healthy 4th, and please remember why we celebrate this day, we have the greatest freedoms in the known universe thanks to the sacrifices of our founding fathers.

Ok Magster, now that was funny. Very seldom do I laugh out loud while reading a post, but I did on that one. :D <br /><br />The family and I will be at Patoka lake this weekend........(unless I buy that powerwasher, then I will have to powerwash my driveway............that gravel gets really dirty). ;)

After reading the "wedding Gifts" post the other day, Lets say "I will be at home guarding my loot."<br /><br />Actually thinking of driving up and down the highway with a load of new trailer axles, sell them to the guys that didn't do their pm on their trailers. Light kits too. The last few years on summer holidays, there has been a cop ticketing every trailer passing thru town with bad lights. He watches as the approach the first stoplight. They all have to hit the breaks and make a lane change. Ka-ching.

Watching fireworks tommorow night and then agian Saturday night at two seperate festivals. Otherwise I will be doing stuff around the house and perhaps shopping with the wife a little. This is one weekend I will not go boating or fishing because there are too many one weekend a year nuts out there this weekend.

Re: Busy weekend ahead, where will you be?

Well,<br /><br />We did a 1 night quick-trip to Diamond Lake Oregon. I caught a 17 1/2" trout on my ultra-light pole. NICE FISH!<br /><br />We went back home and found out the Fish and Wildlife shut all swimming down in the lake due to the algae blooming and toxins it may cause. They said they may close the whole thing by today. This was caused by some moron introducing the TUI CHUB (trash fish) to the lake some years ago. The chub eat the algae-eating fish, and so on...Too bad too, since Diamond lake used to be a trophy lake.<br /><br />We was on our way to Odel Lake, Oregon (VERY big fish there)...about 2 hours from Diamond lake.<br />We were about half way there and started smelling the all-too-familiar forest burning smell. <br />We stopped at the next ranger station and found out that a forest fire broke out (The Davis fire) very close to the lake. <br />Apparently you couldn't even see across the lake due to the smoke.<br /><br />So, we drove about an hour to a smaller lake to find it's campgrounds full. #&!!(%!<br /><br />Went to another lake closer to home... You guessed it..FULL...<br />(*&^*$%!_)%$*&<br /><br />So, we found ourselves at a high lake today. We fished until the afternoon with only 1 fish being landed by my daughter. <br />The sonar marked a ton of fish, but I think it was marking weeds, because there is no way there can be that many fish and no bites. <br />I'm not entirely sure how to set the fish finder, since I'm still kinda new at it. (Lowrance X65) It had to be a false bottom reading of weeds, since anywhere in the lake marked fish at 12 to 15 feet. If there are any Lowrance gurus here, I could use the advice!<br /><br />Anyhow..back to our camping dilema...<br />Since we only got 1 fish (nobody else was catching them either), we decided to come home and try skiing tomorrow and hopefully dodge the rest of the boaters.<br /><br />With the major lakes smoked and algae'd in, the next (and only) biggest lake is Lost Creek lake.<br /><br />I'm almost just want to get a lawn chair out and wait for the 'dock-side' olympics to begin!<br /><br />If anyone is there, I don't know what to do to find me...I'm the guy with a 21 ft. Bayliner , a camouflage boonie hat, and blue sunglasses!<br /><br />Have a safe holiday weekend!<br /><br />H.

Our town does fireworks on the 3rd, And I just got back so tomarrow its 1/4 mile south to the bait store and 4 1/2 miles north to the boat ramp. 9 1/2 miles total with the truck the rest with the boat. Then on the 5th I will repeat the trip and stay out late as we have a nice display on one of the lakes on the chain i launch on. You all have a wonderful holiday and do not forget what its all about and be safe!
