Update on weekend We got back a couple hours ago from a 50 state salute done with cannons. It was cool (even though you would sweat in the shade) and not crouded at all we actually got to park half a block from the event which is unusual for Charleston. I guess everyone is saving up for tonight.

So I will be at lake DeGray in arkansas
boaterntexas,
I will be at lake Joe Pool in Grand Prarie TX, this weekend. But I will be taking my boat to lake Hamilton in AR in two weeks. I have been on lake DeGray lots of times. All the lakes in the Ozarks are great. Have fun everyone and be safe.

interesting weekend for us ...

went to a friend of the one woman party barge parade, swam and cooked and FRIED in the blazing sun ... and I played with Max the pool going wonder dog (the sweetest black lab you ever saw, I think I have some pics of him diving in mid air on the ol Digichrome)

and played with Max

and played with Max

I would go hide underwater, and he would come whomping in the water, looking down at me looking up at him, and he would start churning his way toward me, like something out of a stephen king novel (he WILL gouge you up if you dont keep him from attempting to swim thru you) which made me laugh

underwater

friends, never laugh underwater choking and laughing on the surface, Max did his clawing thing, and got steered away, and of course, I couldnt resist doing it again, lol, its so damn funny ....
Im getting really good at steering him away, eh, learning is a painful processs in life

hours and hours later I was pretty much drug out of the pool, dog weary (!) and burnt to a crisp ...

of course, Ive spent the day also watching the one woman bombshell parade prancing around in a wet bathing suit, so Im pretty much hormonally carbonated by the time we get home - and the daughter is out with her friends daughter, woo hoooo

but I am so damned tired and flaming hot from the burn that I opted for a nap  instead ... at 7 pm ...

arising from my nap at five in the morning, ( I woke for a bit in the middle of the night, but was the only one awake ... no point in staying awake, besides I was still bone tired) the one woman tapeworm parade sez, Im hungry daddy!!! and we need cigarettes!

its about seventy miles to the Shady Maple smorgasbord out in Lancaster territory, Blue Ball is the nearest town ... funny name for a place close to where you take Bird In Hand, and go to Paradise via Intercourse! ... we went there cause we heard the breakfast was good, and had to cross a bridge to get to Delaware anyway

Steak and mushroom omelette is something you have to try, its like a cheesesteak wrapped in egg (they had eggbeaters but I didnt see that til it was too late) Im not into sweets, but a sweet fanatic would love this place donuts and fritters and all sorts of stuff

riding to Delaware via a scenic route, we feel the effects of the previous day and the burn disrupted sleep ... I get drowsy, not good at any speed, and especially the speeds an Outback can generate when you have the AC on and the outside noise becomes nil ... (damn thing is as heavy as a pickup truck with a motor the size of a Vega ... and it blasts along at over a HUNDRED without you even knowing it, you swear you are doing maybe 75 ..

as we stop at various places to shop and stretch, the Oppressive index climbs steadily - finally we get home, 20 dollar cartons of ciggies in hand, ready to take a little nap, wake and PARTY, woo hooo!

Phone rings not a minute later ... the AC has gone out at the bar my mom manages for my grandmom
Im sore, tired and VERY aware of the fact that its blast furnace hot now outside, and that AC is in direct sun now

aint easy bein #1 son

ripping the ac unit down, the sun beating down like in the movie "the bridge over the river kwai" I start laughing and humming that song they all hummed Surreal I thought I was in a nightmare

Finally patched back up, I went home, scared the hell out of my girls ... even the teenager was worried about me, and she never knows Im alive most of the time! apparently I was bright red and gray at the same time, neat trick ...

hit the shower and staggered to the bedroom, barely coherent ... s'ok .. just gimme a half hour of sleep ... Ill be fine ...

I have severe sleep apnea, I have to sleep with a BiPap machine ... I go to hit the button and the house goes dead

Air Conditioning goes off

Fans go off

and of course ... the machine wont go on

and I cant sleep without it

period

oh god ...

did I mention Im burned? lol, for a moment i wonder if a 12 gauge shotgun shell would fit into the 12 gauge marine launcher I have, then figure, eh, cant get much worse ...

a few hours later, power comes on, I hit the machine and out I go

remember, things cant get much worse

I wake up, and realize I havent taken my pills for the night - Liz is out like a light and I dont want to wake her, so I take my pills in the dark

I have read that Viagra is good for six hours, one of my experiments is to test that, once I get my stress test done, make sure my heart is good to go for a workout like that ... six hours straight, muhahaha

My cholesterol pill is blue, and triangular, and a bit bitter

My pill wasnt bitter I realized a bit too late

for eight hours I slept on my side, belly sleeping was out, and I was afraid the cat would find a new claw sharpening post if I slept on my back

::SIGH::

so later on in the morning, I wake UP, Liz wakes up, and inbetween her getting the coffee and coming back to bed to, well, lol, FINALLY have some fireworks ...

phone rings, mom again, AC is down ...

Homer Simpson couldnt replicate the DOH that reverbrated thru the house

which woke the girl up ... and she wanted omlette for breakfast

Just shoot me! I said to Liz, and I think out of pity she would have, but not before getting HER omlette too, lol,

off to the AC, stop off at ace hardware for new keyways and set screws

more blazing heat, more direct sunshine, the seals were destroyed when the fan came apart, and the lack of oil is eating the god knows how old bearing inside - this is a WW II era evaporater stack, to me, a vexation cast in what was once steel and has since reverted mostly back to ferrous oxide ... I get it running and propose two solutions ...

1 take it down AGAIN and take said bearing carrier to a machine shop, see if they can press in a new bearing and seals (where in gods name they will FIND something so old is beyond me)

2 try to rig an weather proof motor and turn the fan directly with it

there is also a squirrel cage blower from a house forced air system, I might try to rig that

(anyone know what a seven ton AC equates to in BTU terms? two big window units should do it too!)

Tomorrow looks to be another lost day, machine shop guys shaking thier heads and saying gonna take two weeks at least, and its needed NOW ...

its 1230 and I have to be up in five hours!

how was YOUR holiday weekend???
