Buy or not to buy? '02 150hp Johnson

In the search to upgrade from my '79 150hp Johnson, I have found a 2002.
Are these a good year? Built by Bombardier?
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

As long as it's not a Ficht and being a Johnson it shouldn't be. The carbed model Johnsons were good mtrs.

That should be a pretty good motor. An 02 Johnson is a Bombardier built carb'd motor.

By 02 even the ficht/FFI/Direct Injection motors were good.
