I have the opportunity to buy a 1982 Imperial V182 bowrider boat that appears to be in relatively good condition except for the floor and seats have been removed to replace the rotted floor boards. Are there any areas that I definetly should look over really well concerning how the 2.5 litre four cylinder engine and outdrive are mounted. The current owner assures me that both the engine and outdrive are in good working order but I want to look it over real well considering that he only wants $500 for it. Any expert info would be appreciated.

If by chance this boat has been painted blue with black and gray designs steer clear of it. Probably not the one but I looked at one not long ago, and found out it had been allowed to freeve in one of the twin lakes in Lewiston, MI. The owner forgot about it until a January snowmobile trip. Talked to a local marina and found this out. Also they had been having trouble with water in the engine oil. Again this probably isn't the boat, but maybe.

DougV>

Not the same boat but thanks for the warning. The boat I'm looking at is two tone brown and it is the original gel coat. Do you know of any inherent problems with these boats? I really don't know much about them and I definetly haven't found out much online.

A friend of mine has one only shorter, he likes it. The one I looked at was a little narrower than my four winns, but otherwise pretty similair.

DougV>
