Buying a boat with no motor

Well, assuming I iron out my current crop of problems, I'll have a decent, running, 115hp Johnson motor, attached to a boat that will need at the very least, new carpet, and maybe seats and all other interior parts as well. It's just a tired old (1970) Glastron V166.<br /><br />Is there deals to be had on decent boats that I could attach my motor to? How much? Or am I better off just fixing my current boat and sticking it out? Or biting the bullet and buy a whole rig, older boat and motor. I'm not what you'd call an "avid" boater, so I hate to spend a bunch of money on this.

You may find a deal, or you may buy a can of worms.<br /><br />If your current boat suits the purpose, has a solid hull, and is functional, why not keep her. Fix it up a little and save your $ for repairs or a vacation. You can do a total rehab, or just what needs to be done.<br /><br />Someday you may have the desire to buy newer/bigger/faster/smaller/, but for now it sounds like you are ok with what you have.<br /><br />Happy boating.

nitsuj <br />Ditto's on what roscoe just said. Since your not a avid boater mabe just sprucing up what you have would be the way to go.
