I am interested in buying a performance boat. However I was wondering if it would be better to buy an early model hull, say from 1990 and up and buy the engines that I want. Or just buy a totally new boat?

I guess that depends if you want custom or new. I can't think of a good reason not to buy a new boat if you can afford it. New boats are nice because they've been tested and tuned at the manufacturer's expense and the components match. To build a performance boat from scratch is expensive too and may not be as safe at high speeds. Have fun!

i'd find some websites that the go-fast crowd frequent. you'll probably get better responses than here. around the maryland/virginia area, a good one is www.cbpba.com

good luck-
