Hello all,

Im looking buy a 27' contender with Twin 225 Yamaha Four Strokes.
the engines has around 1700 hours.

Can someone tell me more about the 225's and how reliable are they. with 1700 hours is that very high for an four stroke engine? and how can i test the engines to see if they are both good.

much Thanks.

without the model or seriel numbers and that amount of hours there isnt anything I can say other than have an idiot perfectionist like me, but with better spelling and grammer skills, carefully check the engine and check the warrenty status and for any updates.
I can tell you that some of the F motors that used a crankshaft driven oil pump have to have crank sleeves installed at about the hours your looking at.

1700 is alot of hours but if the right maintnance was done on the motors they will give you many more hours. Ask if they kept records on work done to the motors. Make sure you compression test the motors...
