Buying help

Hi!
I need some help and hope you can guide me.
I'm about to buy a new boat and the best alternatives i found here in Chile are the Zodiac MK2C HD and the Futura FR MKII C ($$ is almost the same). I have a new short shaft 15hp two stroke Suzuki that i don't want to change and i'm afraid it will not be enough to move the Futura . I do some fishing near the coast with no more tan 3 people onboard. The boat will be kept on a trailer and away from the sun.
Wich one should i choose? (And why? =D)

Hi there, would choose the MK2C with standard alum deck and inflatable keeel, The Futrura is a speed like boat, not suitable for fishing or diving platform.. A 15 HP will be a very poor performer, expect just fast displacement speeds if heavily loaded. But will take you there...

Sell the 15, get a Tohatsu 2 strokes 18 HP, much better than any 15 HP, will work better on a 420. Check that transom height matches engine size before buying it. To really enjoy your MK2C will need a 30 HP minimum.

Everything is relative a 420 will plane better with a 15 if carrying light to medium loads, on the contrary, a heavy loaded 380 with 15 probably won't plane. Check with how much gear and passsengers can plane with your 15, reduce weight or passengers accordingly untill you are satisfied with sib/engine performance, but fun definitely is at plane.

Fast displacement or planing will depeend on your load & passengers and how far you intend to go. To be honest haven't tried a 15 HP as we only work with18 HP for overall use between 310 to 420 mt sib or ribs. Buy a Zodiac pressure gauge along 380. The avatar picture is a 380 sib with 18 HP, will transport 3 at full plane at 3/4 throttle.-
