Hello,

I am planning on buying a 1993 Four Winns Fish/Ski from a guy this week if the test drive on Pleasent goes well. I am going to be meeting the guy out at Pleasent on Wednesday to take it for a test drive and was wondering what I should look at while out on the water? It has a 1993 140hp Johnson V4 on the back of it. The boats look to be in great shape, he started the motor up at his house on Sunday it ran great. Also can anybody recommend a good place to get it tuned up at? I am in N. Phoenix (Happy Valley/I17) preferably some place that won't have the boat for two weeks. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

There isn't a lot to the tune up on these late model motors all you have to do is buy some plugs, a can of decarb or sea foam which ever you prefer and a couple of tubes of l/u oil, you can do all this yourself in an hour. All the ignition is electronic, and the carbs have fixed jets so unless something breaks there is no need for a shop. The 9 year old kid next door did mine once (couse i watched him) and he did a good job. As far as a shop in your area look in the yellow pages and pick one out, then just go meet the guys and ask a few questions, or ask the fellow you bought the boat from where he goes.
