New to Forum and to start thank you in advance.
To start 91 mercury outboard 2 stroke. I just had the thermostat and water pump professional replaced in the last couple wks. I take the boat out last night for a trial. For approx an hr at various RPM's engine is great, I ran approx 8miles and then run at an idle and then buzzer goes off. Take cover off and the head is not or I was at least was able to keep hand on it. I wait 10 min buzzer still on, I take off and the passenger kept hand on head and its not hot. I have a very strong **** stream a lil smoke so its getting oil. So i stay around 25k-3k RPM to get back to ramp. Head not hot, it did get a LITTLE warmer going through Idle zone but not hot to the touch. Could the heat sensor be bad?? Im Lost and help would be appreciated.
