1983 johnson o /b 70 hp seahorse. Have replaced plugs , good compression, had timed, spark good on all three cylinders ,new cables, new gas tank, no leaks in gas lines, carbs rebuilt, and all connection cleaned. Will start easy and run at low throttle but if you give more gas will die. When I wait it will smooth out and give gas will take off and run very good sometimes take 2 or 3 tries 2 get it going. Need a little help here. By the way, after i get it going i can go up or down on gas work fine. It just bogs down like its not getting enough gas or something or not building enough RPM's to take full throttle. Thanks in advance .

Try a "link and synch". Sounds like you got a lazy carb (or two). You'll find instructions in the "Top Secret File" at the top of this page.

Re: by the way after i get it going

after a carb rebuild, couple things I know of cause those symptoms:
* idle speed set too low. should be around 850-900 in gear pushing the boat.
* throttle valves open too soon, RPMs increase but without enough spark timing advance, she falls flat on her face.

Make sure the cam hits the roller right on the mark. If you adjust the roller, take the airbox cover off and make sure the throttles are still getting to horizontal at WOT.
