Just for grins? Is it a know practice to take out the water sperator filter and the mechanical pump out of the design and just put in a small inline fliter from the tank ( a few inches) to a new electrical pump and go right to the Carb? Any know issues taking out both filter and mech cause any problems? This is to work on a possible vapor lock issue?

No it is not a common practice. The common practice is to troubleshoot the system with gauges, clear temporary fuel hoses to detect airleaks, vacuum gauges to detect clogs and checking the contents of fuel filters for water prior to installing a new filter and trying to run it again.

If the boat is a inboard or in/out,using one of those inline clear plastic fuel filters is a BIG NO-NO per USCG.

My plan is to use the water seperator connected to a new elec pump inline with a pressure reg to the carb with braded hosing totaly away from the manifold and hoses.

DID some driveway temp testing. Motor houseing never got over 108 degrees F however the L aluminum pipe with fuel area got up to 130 degrees. The question is that enough to make the fuel in the L tube into the CARB boil?? Anyone know??
