I have a 1988 suzuki 150 supersix, with oil injection, I had a problem with too much oil in cylinders, my question is there a problem with disconnecting the oil injection and just mixing the fuel 50:1 ratio, several people have said thats what they have done before, just wondering if there is a down side to this, any response would be greatly appreciated iam really struggling with some issues regarding this engine and i really need to start eliminated some of the problems, oil saturated plugs is one of them,,, thanks

You might want to examine WHY you have too much oil in the cylinders. Are you the first owner of this engine? Did a previous owner change oil pumps? Are the in-line check valves properly functioning? Is there excessive piston-to-cylinder clearance? I'd examine all thes possibilities before eliminating the one part for which there's a 1-in-10,000 failure rate.

not sure how many owners this boat has seen, dont know whats been done to it, i do know that this engine has never been apart, and runs good until oil fouls plugs, you start talking about inline check valves, not sure what i would be looking for?

yes it will get enough oil by mixing it yourself, in fact at some speeds (lower) it will be getting too much, the oil system gives little trouble, why not get it fixed and continue to use the motor as it was designed?

10- 4 I understand, I will have it looked in the future, boat mechanics around here dont like to touch suzuki's, so may need to get an old repair manual somewhere. meanwhile i'll have to mix.

i just got a 150 ss also...and i am definitely disconecting mine. I have seen too many motors on craiglist with blown heads....all being attributable to the oil injection.

I dissconected it on my last dt115 and pre-mixed and it ran perfectly.
