Am thinking of revamping the steering on my Trophy. Currently have power assist M/C steering. Want to go hydraulic so I can plumb in an autopilot later. I have a complete 2 station hyd setup off another boat. Thinking of leaving the power assist in place, substitute a hyd ram where the steering cable now fits into the M/C power steering unit and thus have hydraulic slash power steering. Anyone seen or tried anything like this?
Ideas?

Technically not a problem, but most likely not 'needed'.
Throw the power steering away and use the power it consumes for the propeller instead!
