I am ready to install the new carpet up the sides of the Manatee. What the heck do I do with all the old yellow carpet adhesive? I tried scrapping it off but it just rolls up. It stuck too well to just come off and not well enough to glue the new stuff too.

Whats the best way to remove that old glue without destroying the rest of the boat?

4 inch grinder and wire wheel worked great. Thanks. What a mess when I was done. Yellow dust everywere. It seems in boat restoration. You make a mess you clean up. You make a mess you clean up. You make a mess you clean up. repeat that 150 times and your done. I have about 25 more messes before I am done. It seems I am getting closer. Tommorow night time to install the carpet. Any tips I should be aware of? I am using carpet adhsive I purchased from Cabela's.

just read and follow the directions on the container and you should be fine.

The only other piece of advice I ever have is, plan your work and work your plan.
