Hey everyone,

I'm thinking of taking the family out camping on our Sun Tracker Party Barge. My only worry is keeping the insects/bugs out and rain. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with camping on the river? What do you use to keep the bugs and rain away?

Assuming you can clear enough room (remove permanent furniture as required, even temporarily), consider a tent for the night time, and a canopy w/screen enclosure for daytime. If you keep the 'toon out in the breeze, generally the bug won't be too much bother.

A screened in sun room tent thingy works well, or as mentioned, a normal tent.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm starting to lean more towards a custom enclosure/canopy. A lot more pricey than a tent, but I'm thinking this is the way to go.

When I bought our pontoon boat I paid the extra $2800 (?) for the full enclosure with roof and full window/screens. Works great and get most use out of the 2 piece fore and aft zip together top whether for rain or sun. Have stayed overnight and things worked out pretty well if there is no wind.
