I just bought a boat and I can’t tell anything about it or find anything online. On the side it say “challenger by buster dobbs spindrift” and on the back it says “bay fisher 1900”. Anyone know anything or how I can find anything about this boat? Can’t even find a google image of it. It’s a 1997 model.

Last 2 are the year

Didnt it come w title and/or registration?

If not, that may be a bigger problem then the who & what

I’ve looked up the Hull ID and it didn’t provide much help. Just trying to find its value. You can’t even find the boat on NADA.

I believe Buster Dobbs is a builder out of Tennessee. He's no longer living, and Challenger has been gone for a number of years. I think they were build down in Fayetteville, TN. My guess is it's a run-of-the-mill fishing boat. Nothing particularly noteworthy about 'em good or bad.

With boats, the value is typically $0. If it's got a good working motor, trailer and everything is running like it's supposed to - then for a '97 the value add comes up to about $2,000 plus or minus.

Welcome aboard.

Its worth what you paid, or less.... and any value is heavily dependant on location

Its 23yrs old, a little past its intended service life. Its current condition is more important then any 'value' based on make/model in most cases

Few boats are special enough to maintain long term, high values.

Find the prices of any locally for sale, similar equipped, similar layout boats w a similar drivelines and those prices are a good place to start. And remember for sale prices are usually higher then selling/sold prices.

If you already bought it, why the hunt for a 'value' now?

For insurance purposes, try using an agreed on price.
