Can 2 foot pedals be used at once, Power drive?

I have a Minn Kota power drive and has the electric foot pedal. Is it possible to wire 2 of the pedals in if only one is used at a time. Like one for the front of the boat and one for the rear? that way if you move you don't have to worry about moving you pedal around also. Just need some thoughts. I was looking at the wireless foot pedal but was told that there's a delay that could be a pain. Any other ideas?????

If you are asking if you can just connect two of them together.....no. If you were to take this to an electronics shop and ask them to make it work...then yes, it could be done, most likely with a "take control" relay/switch.

Bear, Would it be acceptable to flip a switch when you want to change footpedals? If so, you will need a multipole doublethrough switch, of the appropriate amperage.

Yes a switch would be the ticket, but how do I know what amp switch to get? Your talkin like a switch that's 3 way? Off in middle and on at either end?

You need to proceed with caution on this project. There are electronics in the foot control so you must be certain you don't back-feed current to the unused controller. I seriously doubt a two or even three-pole switch will work for this. There are no high-current circuits in the controller so current rating is not a problem. Unless you get a schematic for the controller and understand what you are doing, the only perfectly safe switch would be one that switches every circuit from one controller to the other.

Bearcamp, You will need to look at the wiring harness between the motor an the pedal and determine how many wires there, and their gauge. The simplest way is to get a switch that has the same current capacity as the wiring, and the same number of poles as the number of wires. Alternatively, if you know the function of each wire, you will be able to put a switch on those which require it (ie signal cables) and just splice those wires (power, ground) which could be connected to both pedals all the time.
