Can a cobra drive still be resealed?

If I decide to keep my four winns as it does have a nice transom and stringers, can I plan to have parts avail to reseal the drive should the need occur?

Would it be wise to start looking for rotten boats to get a spare drive off of?

yes, I just had mine done over the winter. Its an 87 and is behind a v6. It started leaking while sitting off the boat in my garage, wasnt sure which seal was leaking so i just shipped off to my local boat guy (one of the few remaining marine mechanics still willing to work on cobras). He did a total reseal with impeller for the tune of $500:eek:. Told me he had no trouble finding seals for it.
