Can a novice like me install a trolling motor?

I am getting ready to buy my first trolling motor(riptide sp 55 lb, corded foot pedal) to put on the front of my J16. Spending a lot to purchase the motor so trying to save some money by installing it myself. I have general knowledge with electrical/construction. I know so far that I will have the TM, mounting bolts, circuit breaker, wire, battery, and ends. I have installed minor things like lights, livewell wiring and timer, small things like that on my boat. Has anyone else done it theirselves for the first time? Thanks.
