I took it off of my bass boat and put it on an old 1970 Steury Trihull. Im getting 47mph on the GPS with a 22 prop. Im happy with the performance, but Im only turning 4700 rpm.

Im dont want to damage any thing, So Im curious as to what my RPMs should be. I have looked for it on the internet, but Im finding alot of different quotes?

Can any one help?

i would want to see 5500-6000, so you need to pick up 1,000 rpms. 200 rpms, per 1 inch decrease in pitch. puts you at a 17 inch pitch. you may loose some speed, but will have one heck of a hole shot. that tri hull is much harder to push than the bass boat. presently you are lugging the motor, at all speeds.

The factory rating of 150 hp was at 5000. Your XP puts out around 165 at that rpm. They further specified a "normal" operating range between 4500 and 5500. You want to be propped in the upper part of the normal operating range. Your 150 XP engine has some of the 175 hp components and should by happy running 5600-5700. Your power pack rev limiter is probably set at 5850. I'd follow Tas' recommendation on propping.
