Hi,

Just bought an old Zodiac, but the metal plate with all the info is missing. It 2,5 meter (about 8.2 feet).

The valves are missing, so i can't inflate it completely.

I made some pics: is there any expert that can tell me wich boat and type this is (and wich age?) is very welcome! What's the max. engine i can use on this one?

Welcome to the forums,

Seems a quick response roll floor model with non skid alum slat panels, just deploy and pump, larger versions have relief valves, can be inflated with air bottles, compressors. If it's a 2.5 model, ideal in the 5-8 HP SS range. Post fabric valve assembliy pic to check if standard air valves will match.

Thanks for the quick reply and the welcome, Sea Rider!

I will make a pic of the valves. I hope the boat is not (air)leak, but we'll find out soon enough :)

Could it be it's from the 70's or 80's?

You are welcome, hard to tell the manufacturing year, as this model seems is not made any more in that small size, but Avon which is a Zodiac Company still manufactures them in Hypalon for commercial, rescue purposes in 2 larger sizes and listed only in the non recreational segment. Have never seen one physically, does this model have an inflatable keel under alum slats ?

OP not sure what country you are in, but you might have trouble registering it without that metal plate. As far as I know any motorized vessel needs to be registered in the USA. Has it ever been registered?

Thanks for the warning! I live in the Netherlands, we only need registration if the boat exceeds 20 km/hour. So it depends on the motor i'm going to use ;)

The boat is a really old Zodiac Cadet probably a 260 model if it is 8'6" long. That boat is probably at least 25 years old based on the color. They stopped making the orange and black ones in 1987 I believe. IT is probalby rated to carry a four or five horsepower.
Defender sells the valves on their website www.defender.com their item is 450466 .

Good Luck with it,

Thanks! Will look for the valves and - after inflating - check if it has an inflatable keel. Could be 260 cm, i'll have to check when inflated. Thanks for all the replies, i will post a pic when inflated :D

This is a picture of one of the air gates. I bought the wrong valve, i think - the one with the green "switch" on top :(
