I have a 1999 OMC 70 Hp engine with model #J70PLEEE,engine family #X1PXM0056210. This motor is set up for the OMC systems check wiring.
However, at the rear of the motor below the spark plugs is the typical large round red amphenol type connector used on earlier models of evinrudes and johnson engines. This connector connects part of the wiring to a remote control setup. It shows up on no wiring diagram I have found in the service book. Can anyone identify it and its purpose? Is this the standard way OMC uses to extend wiring for remote setups?
Thanks in advance for the help.
