Can anyone tell me what these parts are?

I am restoring a 1979 Toon and while it is at the welders I am taking stock of my parts. These look to me to be some kind of bimini installation for the rails, can anyone tell me what it is used for and how it is installed?

Yep, Larry, they probably fasten to the top of the siderails. It allows the bimini top to be moved forward or backward a bit.

They are used to mount the bimini support rods to. When folded down you can use these to slide the poles back and out of your way. I have seen them on lots of boats, (had them on one) but not on a pontoon. Nonetheless, they do help to slide the top out of your way and then position it where you want when up.
