I'm in the rebuild stage of my restored Bayliner and want to know if I could change things around. I want to get rid of the center seat area because you have tickets over it. Also I want to move the battery to the rear of the boatand make a storage spot for it. I also want to raise the front walkway and just make a platform that could be dual purpose. My biggest thing is relocating the battery. Dont think that is an issue but maybe it is.

Not sure what you mean by...Tickets over the center area..... No expert but i would think as long as it is properly supported underneath the deck you should be ok.

Battery box area.......Is there foam where you want to put it? If so box it off and pour the foam around the box.

The experts will be along soon.

sorry not tickets. My phone auto corrected I guess. I meant that I want to remove the center seat because you have to climb over it when walking from the bow to stern.

Probably you can change things up a bit. My suggestion would be to get some measurements and do a scale drawing to be sure of clearance for people passageways, etc. The battery location should be OK as long as you can get the wiring to it. Lots of wiring clamps for the re-route.

Ok i get it...those dam phones.
Kinda odd place for a seat on an open bow boat.....Is that from the manufacture like that?

the reason I chose that spot is the closeness to the wiring coming into the hull from the outboard. I wanted to make sure there wasn't like regulation as to the location of the battery or something like that. it's a smaller boat so i'm trying to maximize comfort/space.

the one on the left is from the manufacturer. Its a bayliner. The rear "seats" i think are more like steps right now. I wanted to make them bigger. The middle seat is stupid but i think it's their because they put the battery their so needed to make it look more natural? i guess?

Bayliner probably placed the battery forward in an effort to lighten up the stern which helps it get on plane easier and less likely for water to splash over the transom when at rest and people are crowded around the back of the boat swimming and whatnot. You can compensate by storing some heavy items like your anchor further forward. Having a shorter battery cable run will give you better cranking power.

Batteries & fuel are often stored @the port side of a starboard helm boat to counterbalance the weight of a single person aboard & at the helm. Might consider the opposite stern corner if you ever boat solo. A 90lbs +/- battery may not make much difference, depending on how big a boat we're talking about. A sub 750lb tinny, it might make a difference.....

Where is the fuel currently? It's an I/O right? It may be below deck or under/near the seat you want to remove. May be why they set it up that way.....

Outboard motor and it's a portable fuel tank that goes under the rear center area. 10 gal maybe?
