I've heard that merc cruiser stern drives have some sort of kit you can put on that make the stock through the prop exhaust sound almost as good as a thru hull exhaust system.
I have a 1988 IMP Elengaza with the 5.7l 260 HP Chevy Motor with an OMC Cobra outdrive. I would like to put a little rumble to this power plant, but don't necessarily want to invest hundreds of dollars for a thru hull exhaust system.
Any suggestions???????
Thanks fellow boaters.

As Bond-o said, removing the exhaust bellows will vent the exhaust in to the gimble housing and create a bunch more noise... but it will also make for a lot of cleaning of the outdrive, because the exhaust soot and such will build up all over the place...
