This is the problem!NO............ you cannot even SEE the flywheel on an ocean pro.....much less wrap a rope around it.....

its not, and I hope I didn't convey that it was..... the op probably has a 60 degree looper OIS motor which has the covered flywheel like I mentioned.... I only added the second post to express that there are large HP motors that do have a place on the flywheel to start with a rope !bobThat pic (above) don't look like no crossflow I ever seen Bob?
Fwiw it is possible to pull start a crossflow, had to do it once. Hurt for days afterward. The motor was reasonably warm at the time.
Think I'd hang myself with the rope before attempting to pull start one nowadays. S'pecially if'n it was cold ...
This is the problem!
The flywheel is cover by some cams and levers required for the correct timing!
