Hello
I have a 17' fiber class speed boat that has few scratches at the bottom. Can I paint the boat?
I heard that it's not recomended to repaint the fiber class because the paint will not stay.
Is this true?
Thanks

Re: Can I paint her?

Stemar,
You can paint your boat as long as you prepare the surface and use the proper paint. Sanding the surface to be painted is necessary. A final wet sanding with 600 grit paper, wash with clear water and allow it to dry. Then paint with a one component urethane or epoxy paint.
Lots of work but it can be done.
What kind of boat do you have and just how fast is it?

c/6

Hooty

I agree with the response from hooty. actually you can paint ANY surface on earth except ice!

I would go one step further and use mineral spirits or paint thinner on a rag and wipe her down. ( Removes any wax or oil).

Use good paint. It does not pay in the long run to skimp on the paint. Trust me on this, I have been in the paint biz for 17 years.

Good luck.
