Well a few weeks back now I bought a 1984 21' Proline walk around, after some polishing here she is:

I am really looking forward to the 2007 season!!

So heres a few questions, there are two 1" scuppers in the back, I would like to enlarge these to a 2-3" hole for better draining (saftey) is there any issue in doing this that you guys can see? The new holes will be sealed with epoxy to avoid water into transom.

Also the fuel tank, should I replace the under deck fuel tank? The reason I ask is because it has a good amount of salt water inside it and its the original tank from 1984. Someone mentioned, just pump out the tank and flush it, and seal it with some chemical or paint? Anyone know? Thanks!

i would be concerned how salt water got into the tank. the hardest part of refitting the scuppers would be the cutting of the hole. i think i would use a wooded dowel and insert it into the existing hole tightly, then use a hole saw to cut the new one. the tank is 23 years old. if you can reasonable get to it, i go with a new poly tank.

Tank replacement sure seems to be in order. As Tashasdaddy said, the concern is with how it got there to begin with. Do you know the answer?

I like the dowel and hole saw method of scupper replacement. Are you getting a lot of water onboard? I go through some pretty rough stuff in a smaller boat, and I don't take on too much for my 1" scuppers to evacuate.
