thought it would be cool to match my airguide speedo with the matching tach, but will it work on my motor?

i have a 4 cylinder, single coil, dist and points ignition

and im also thinking about not buying from this individual, just because of principles, i watched the auction for a long time, and the price was 10 dollars, i emailed him ONCE, got a reply, and he had raised the price to 12 dollars! and said he had a lot of interest showed in this, ive been lookin at the same listing for over a month now and it was a constant 10 dollars, untill 1 email, then the price went up!

anyway enough ranting, will this tach work on my outboard?

OO! OO! I'm going to outbid you! I'm going 12.50. LOL

Seriously though, I had one years ago and it always worked sporadically. I returned it to the factory 3 times for repair, they said it worked, then finally, I gave up.

If you really want it just for show, go ahead. But, if you want it to work, think twice. Seller even admits he doesn't know if they work--that 'aint a good sign.

yeah, i believe your right frank, i want it to match my speedo, but i want it to work too! so oh well let him sit on it, no point in wasting my money on it, i dont even know how it would hook up! cuz it didnt look like there was any motor adjustments or anything!
