I have a Lowrance HDS-5 Gen 1 and I'd like to replace it with a new Garmin GPSMAP 741xs. I'm hoping it will just be a simple plug-n-play operation. Before I buy the Garmin, I'd like to be sure the existing equipment will be compatible with the new Garmin.

I have the following items connected to the NMEA 2000 bus:

- Evinrude E-Tec engine
- Lowrance transducer that came with the HDS-5 Gen 1
- EP-65R fuel level sensor
- EP-90R pitot sensor
- Maretron TMP100 temperature module with three probes (PGNs 130312 and 128723)
- Lowrance LVR-250 VHF radio, which I think is connected through a NMEA 0183 connection

Thank-you!

Off hand I would say no. But I would contact Garmin for the right answer.

Evinrude E-Tec engine - yes
- Lowrance transducer that came with the HDS-5 Gen 1 - Doubtful. Garmin and Lowrance use different connectors.
- EP-65R fuel level sensor - Will send data to Garmin. Requires Lowrance unit to configure
- EP-90R pitot sensor - Will send data to Garmin. Requires Lowrance unit to configure
- Maretron TMP100 temperature module with three probes (PGNs 130312 and 128723) - yes
- Lowrance LVR-250 VHF radio, which I think is connected through a NMEA 0183 connection - Yes
