Hello
I was maybe a little quick with draining the outdrive, Im gonna take it off and replace the bellows.
But Ì have not run the engine on muffs yet, so I wonder if I do any harm if I run the engine without oil in the outdrive?
Regards
Affa

DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE W/O OIL IN THE OUTDRIVE!!!!
When the engine is running, everything in the outdrive is turning except for the horizontal prop shaft where the shift gears are. If Im wrong someone straighten me out.

As Fin-fever says "Do Not Run Without Oil" the upper gears will suffer the most, if you have to run the engine then refill the stern drive, you have to do it anyway, you weren't going to let it sit empty over the winter?

You can't run the drive w/o oil but you can run the engine w/o the drive. The drive comes off in about 5 minutes. Hook up the water supply to the raw water hose that connects to the leg and you'll get the cooling you need.
