Can I update my oldschool Prop?

Hi guys and gals, I am a new user but long time admirer of this site and forum. Just a quick question, I have a 1973 Chrysler 55hp on a 16ft crestliner tri hull. The issue is it won't plane out. The motor runs strong with no hiccups or issues. I have tried changing the trim, but it didn't do the trick. The boat isnt that heavy, and i have tried with just me in the boat, and it still wont get up there. So here is my dilemma, bigger outboard (its rated for up to 75hp) or change the old 10X10 prop to something more agressive? What do you all think?

You appear to have the finest pitch available as per the link below. I think you can afford to go coarser pitch but what is ideal for your situation I can not help you with.

If you intend to wakeboard or waterski, you will be happier with a larger engine. If you just want to cruise around, try a 10 3/8 X 11 1/2 or 12 or even 13 pitch. Sounds like you just have too little pitch on that engine. My 55 was on a 15, almost 16 foot Glastron closed bow runabout and I was using a 10 3/8 X 13 pitch prop. Gave me 27 MPH when I was alone in the boat.
