Can I upgrade my throttle/shifing assy on my 85 Bayliner Capri?

I just bought a 19" 85 Bayliner Capri Equipt with a force 125 powerhouse of a motor =) * HINT OF SARCASM* Anyways i hate my shifter/throttle. Its all plastic and comes loose and falls apart and just feels cheep. Is there anyway to upgrade to something that feels a little better and wont fall apart in my hand? Thanks in advance guys.

I am considering buying a 1985 bayliner capri w/ the 125 outboard. are you having any problems with it? do you have a bilge pump? the one i am looking at does not look like it has one. let me know if you are happy with it.
