Can I use aluminum propellers on a Mercruiser Bravo III stern drive?

I have a 2012 Bayliner 285 cabin cruiser with Mercruiser Bravo III that comes with stainless steel props. This summer I hit a rock and had to replace the entire stern drive. I'd like to replace the stainless props with aluminum ones to avoid this much damage in the future but Mercruiser does not recommend it but will not give me a good reason why...

Too late now but GPS technology and charts are available for most lakes.------Cheaper than outdrives / props.-----But this new is better stainless idea is all about marketing and consumer demand.------They do not build simple affordable stuff anymore.

Don't know if you can even find aluminum B3 props. Aluminum blades will flex more so you will loose performance. Don't know which boat but might go with a B2 lower, but B2 props are expensive

If your boat was insured it would have been covered. Just get a policy to cover accidents
