I just got a Renogy 100ah Hybrid Gel Battery. I already have an older battery charger that I purchased a few years ago, it's a Schumacher Speed Charge 10amp charger with STD and AGM settings, and it has a microprocessor controller and auto voltage detection.
I know you are not supposed to charge/maintain Deep Cycle marine batteries with a standard automotive charger, but do I need a GEL specific charger or is the AGM setting okay to use with GEL batteries, or do I still risk overcharging and ruining my battery even using AGM setting?
I've tried to find the answer through the google machine but everything I see is the usual "dont use STD chargers on AGM batteries", but have yet to find anything that talks about using or not using AGM on GEL.
