Hi,
I placed a earlier post, on some questions on this matter thanks for all the help. I have another question, I have a 2008 Crestliner Boat with shorelander trailer with surge brakes led lights on the trailer. The trailer wire is a 5 wire plug, the dealer who sold me the boat suggest that I unplug the trailer wires when I back the boat into the water. I tried doing that and the brakes lock up when you go in reverse if you do not have the wires plugged in, their is a key to put in to keep them from locking in place but the key always falls out and still does not work 100% from keeping them from locking up.

I called another boat shop and he told me that these new led lights you can put in the water with them on in that true ????

Have never had a problem with my LEDs in that regard.

LED's are sealed and draw a fraction of the current that standard lights do. They can be immersed.

Biggest advantage to the LED's is the fact that you can submerge them. The problem with the incandescent lights was if they did come in contact with the water, the cold of the water and the hot of the bulb would kill the bulb. LED's do not suffer this fate due to minimal heat.

Really, the only problem with the LED lights is a set of aftermarkets run you $50 vs the cheaper normal trailer lights. I'll go with LED's and never worry about unhooking them again.

No need to unplug any type of the "submersible" type lamps be it LED or incandescent.

Been running the el cheapo Harbor Freight LED lights now for two years, they've been dunked over and over with no ill effects. I did wire them with all soldered connections and heat shrink tubing with sealer inside.
