Can not find the right prop. (please help)

I have a 1978 17' fiberglass terry fishing boat with a 115hp mercury inline 6 (1978) . Brought it last year without prop. <br /><br />I having issues taking off. I trottle down 7 out of 10 times the boat with not plane and the engine just revs up. I no a motor person so any help is appreciated. <br /><br />Prop right now is 13.25X15<br /><br />Thanks

Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />Make sure the power trim is all the way down when you hit the throttle. Otherwise there's something wrong with the powerhead. 15 on that setup should be OK.

Or the prop hub could be spun?

I'd guess a spun hub as well...<br />trip to the prop shop or dealer would be in order if possible. There are ways to check it yourself, but I've seen many blades bent trying that method.
