has anyone had experience with a prop causing a audible ring sounds at a particular RPM?

I've heard gear sets make a similiar noise but never a prop. I suppose in a certain situation it could happen.

at about 1200 rpms, while engine is in gear (does not occur in neutral), a rin ging sound occurs. It disappears around 1300-1400 rpms. Very annoying. sounds sort of like a dry bearing noise..I've spoken with Yamaha dealers and they say is a known occurance and is a seal in lower unit. and is not harmful..But is very annoying pitch sound.. Not a grinding sound, but a ring tone sound..
