Can Salt-X do Damage left in too long

Got some Gladiator brand Salt away.Says to leave it in for a few minutes and flush.anyone know of a time limit on a product like this in the engine and manifolds???? I am looking to possibly do a deep cleaning of my block and manifolds.I was thinking leaving it in overnight.Wanted to see if anyone has had exoerience with this.Charlie

You can leave it in a year. It (and Saltaway) work best on new stuff, as what it does is neutralize the effects of salt.
I did an experiment with a double dose of Saltaway on an old salty water jacket. In a can for 3 weeeks, did nothing..

I guess I can expect zero as far as a good internal cleaning??? Did you dilute or use full strength?? Charlie

Heavy dose. Find something salty (stick a steel bolt in saltwater, get it cruddy, then try it yourself..
