Can someone please help!!!!

I just bought a 1988 85 hp oil injected suzuki engine,I rebuilt the carbs but I am not sure if I put the floats on backwards or not,I found a diagram online but it shows the float on backwards from what they were when I took them out now I dont know which way they go.Suzuki told me the tang goes facing up but there is still a problem!!The motor just will not start!Can anyone help!!The primer bulb just will not stay firm either.

post a pic...1st rule of taking apart something that you are not very familiar with is to always leave one carb together as an example. LOL if you post pic I can help you..also clean needle valve passages good.
