Can someone tell me what this part is?

I have a 2013 Yamaha 115 4 stroke I just got used. There is a small triangular bracket with a threaded hole in the front. Im thinking this is for connecting a kicker motor but not sure. Can any yamaha owner identify this part or better yet tell me how and where you connect a connector rod to the kicker motor? Thanks much. BP

That's your mechanical steering bracket, but your hydraulic steering uses it also.....

OK so its great I know the name of the part but what does it do and can I add a rod to it to connect to my kicker motor? Thanks

I do not see why it could not be used for that.

Might check to see what is sold for that before reinventing

I spoke to Yamaha and its called a steering hook. Not sure what is for but its not used in my application (just the the hole in the part where I might connect a rod) since mine is hydraulic steering. The guy said it could be used for connecting a kicker motor but the yamaha part he recommended doesnt look right. Anybody out there with a 115 Yamaha that has a kicker motor connected to it? Thanks
