can stress cracks be fixed?

i have a 16.5 ft openbow fiberglass boat that has some stress cracks in the back. can i fix those or should i even worry about them? there so small it just looks like paint crackin.

My psychiatrist thinks so.
seriously I think they call it hazing, it's only gelcoat cracks and not structual although it can look bad.

i have a 87 ebko bowrider 16,5 ft with an i/o. it has some stress cracks in the back. can i fix that myself and with what? or should i not even worry about it. they are very thin like an egg crack.

Do you have any pics?

If not, do a search here on "crazing" and "stress cracks", that should give you a good idea what can, or should be done.

They are repairable but if they are not that noticabe then I recommend leaving them alone. You can always fix them later on down the road as part of a larger cosmetic clean-up effort.

Sorry for the late response ( today Im just now going deeper in the forums :) ).

When you say "In the back" .. do you mean on the transom ? or is it part of the deck ?

Are they coming from corners and such ? or from under fittings ?

Do or dont repair right now would depend on the location .. If they are just in the finish without coming from fasteners then you should be ok..should be..

Pics would be Most helpfull..
