Can the middle of the distributor cap be glued back on? And can the wire be fixed?

Hi,

I bought a mercury thunderbolt and the middle wire of the distributor cap was knocked out (meaning it cracked all the way around and popped off.)

Can this be fixed with jbweld or do I need to buy a new one?

Also, they pulled off the wire and if I can jbweld the middle back on can the wire be re-installed as well?

Yoy might be able to reconstuct the cap and use it for testing purposes only. Theres a god chance it will arch somewhere in the fix. I wouldn,t trust it out on the water for any reason. You will be needing a new cap.
