I have been chasing a low WOT issue on my merc black scorpion 5.7. Done every test imaginable. Resistance Tested the coil the other day and the primary was right on but the secondary was only 5,700ohms, while spec calls for 9,400-11,700ohms. Does have unburnt fuel and as the days on the lake go on and boat warms up my RPM's at WOT go down by another 100-200 more. So my theory is as coil warms up it looses even more power, so less spark yet, and more unburnt fuel? The manual shows no special test for the coil, but I figure it should be the same as any other coil to test. Just don't want to spend the money to just throw parts at it.
